TERESA Advisory Board

The TERESA Advisory Board members come from a wide range of experience in the domains related to the project.  They provide guidance to the work throughout the duration of the project.  The table below presents the experts who are members of the Advisory Board.

The first TERESA Advisory Board meeting took place on 12 April 2011 at the University of Malaga, Spain.  TERESA partners and the Advisory Board members discussed the progress made so far and future directions for the project.  For more information, see the presentations made at the 1st Advisory Board meeting.

The second TERESA Advisory Board meeting took place on 3 February 2012 at the University of Malaga, in conjunction with the Security Engineering Forum organized by the FP7 project SecFuture.   For more information, see the presentations made at the 2nd Advisory Board meeting.

The third TERESA Advisory Board meeting took place on 8 November 2012 at the Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingeneiría de Bilbao (ETSI) in Bilbao, Spain.  TERESA partners and the Advisory Board members discussed the progress made so far, and future directions for the project, and the conclusions that can be drawn from the results.  For more information, see the presentations made at the 3rd Advisory Board meeting.

The TERESA Advisory Board members are:

	Jon Alzate SEINALIA, Spain Jon Alzate obtained his MSc degree in Telecommunication Engineering at University of the Basque Country (Spain) in 2001. He graduated in Business Administration in the same university in 2008. Since he joined CAF in 2003, he has spent his career in areas related to on-board electronic systems and, more specifically, in the field of railway signalling systems. Since 2010 he has been the Technical Director of SEINALIA, a subsidiary of CAF Group focused on railway signalling. His main areas of interest are safety-critical systems and railways on-board software.
	Prof.dr.ir Paris Avgeriou University of Groningen, Groningen, The Netherlands Dr. Avgeriou is Professor of Software Engineering in the Department of Mathematics and Computing Science, University of Groningen, the Netherlands where he has led the Software Engineering research group since September 2006. Before joining Groningen, he was a post-doctoral Fellow of the European Re-search Consortium for Informatics and Mathematics  (ERCIM). He has participated in a number of national and European research projects directly related to the European industry of Software-intensive systems. He has co-organized several international workshops, mainly at the International Conference on Software Engineering (ICSE). He sits on the editorial board of Springer Transactions on Pattern Languages of Programming. He has published more than 90 peer-reviewed articles in international journals, conference proceedings and books. His research interests lie in the area of software architecture, with strong emphasis on architecture modeling, knowledge, evolution and patterns.
	Dr. Arnaud Cuccuru CEA LIST, France Arnaud Cuccuru is a research engineer at CEA LIST, in the Laboratory of Model Driven Engineering for Embedded Systems (LISE). His current R&D activities mainly concern formalization of UML execution semantics and simulation of real-time embedded software systems. He is involved in several related standardization processes at the OMG, such as the “UML profile for MARTE”, the “Semantics of a foundational subset for executable UML models” (fUML), the “Action language for fUML” (Alf), and the ongoing “Precise semantics of UML composite structures”. He also participates to the development of the Eclipse UML/SysML modeling tool Papyrus.
	Dr. Christophe Jacquet Supélec, France Christophe Jacquet graduated from Supélec, a French Grande École (graduate school of engineering) with a special focus of the sciences of information, energy, and systems. He received a Ph.D. in computer science from the Université Paris XI in 2006. Has has been on the faculty at Supélec since 2003. He teaches computer architecture, programming languages, compilation, embedded systems, and human-computer interaction at Supélec, École Polytechnique, École Centrale Paris, and EFREI. His research interests include the modeling of heterogeneous systems, in particular complex systems and embedded systems. With colleagues at Supélec, he has been working on the ModHel'X framework, which aims at providing a methodology for designing systems hierarchically, using various modeling methods for subsystems of various natures. He has been involved in several of the projects of the System@tic cluster: Usine logicielle (Software factory), Edona (Open development environment adapted to the standards of the automotive industry). He is also interested in applying systems modeling to ambient intelligent settings, in particular within an ongoing collaboration with LIMSI-CNRS and within the CELTIC CBDP project.
	Peter Jensen EDF Research & Development, Clamart, France Peter Jensen holds a position in the Research & Development division of EDF (Électricité de France) as a Research Expert in the metering systems group. He has a senior advisory role in several national and international smart metering, smart grid and electric vehicle projects within the EDF Group. He is an expert to the European Technology Platform Smart Grids and member of IEC and CENELEC technical committees and also teaches in the French engineering school Supélec. Before joining EDF, Mr. Jensen held positions as project manager and advanced development manager for more than 15 years in the test & measurement business. In these positions he was involved in the development of web-based AMR-solutions, smart electricity meters, and wireless solutions as well as handheld measurement instruments. Mr. Jensen obtained a BSEE degree in 1989 and a MSEE degree in 1991 from Technical University of Denmark.
	Dr. Antonio Maña Gomez Advisory Board Chairman University of Malaga, Malaga, Spain Prof. Antonio Maña received his MSc and PhD degrees in Computer Engineering from the University of Malaga in 1994 and 2003, respectively. In 1995 he joined the Department of Computer Science of the University of Malaga where he is currently Professor in the Computer Science Department. His current research activities include security and software engineering, security of new computing paradigms (Ambient Intelligence and Ambient-Assisted Living, Service-oriented computing, Grids, Cloud computing and virtualized environments) information and network security, software protection and software certification. He has more than 100 peer-reviewed publications. He has participated in several EU funded projects. He has previously been involved in the FP5 CASENET project, was the scientific director of FP6 Serenity project and the Principal Investigator of the UMA team in FP6 iAccess, GST and GREDIA projects and FP7 OKKAM, SECFUTUR, and ASSERT4SOA projects. Prof. Man?a is member of the Editorial Board of the Intl. Journal of Electronic Security and Digital Forensics (IJESDF) and reviewer for several other international journals. He is member of different professional and scientific societies and workgroups and is actively involved in the organisation of research and educational activities.
	Dr. Marga Marcos Universidad del País Vasco, Bilbao, Spain Dr. Marcos graduated with BSc and MSc degrees in physics (Automatic Control) from University of the Basque Country, Spain in 1983 and 1984, respectively. She obtained the PhD degree from the same university in 1988. She is currently a professor in the Department of Automatic Control and Systems Engineering at the University of the Basque Country, where she has been chairman of the Department for more than 10 years. She has authored and co-authored more than 80 technical papers in international journals and conference proceedings. She has acted as the main researcher of more than 60 research projects funded by National and European R&D programmes. She has carried out review work for various conferences and technical journals. She has served on technical committees of IFAC (AARTC, WRTP, CC), IEEE (NBCS) and she has been member of the European Control Association Council, the National Organizing Committee of IFAC Spain and Publication Co-Chair for the IEEE Control and Decision Conference (CDC2005). She has been the General Co-Chair of the IEEE International Conference on Emerging Technologies for Factory Automation 2010. Her research interests include model based industrial control systems, manufacturing systems and real time control systems.
	Pierre-Alain Muller IRISA, France Pierre-Alain Muller is Vice-President for Information Systems at the University of Haute-Alsace, France, and full professor of computer science at the ENSISA School of Engineering; he is associated with the INRIA project Triskell at IRISA in Rennes, France. His research interests include software engineering and model-driven engineering; he has been coordinating the Kermeta meta-language development, and the RNTL OpenEmbeDD project. Before joining academia, he has been CEO of ObjeXion Software from 1999 to 2002 and consultant with Rational Software from 1988 to 1993. He has authored several books about object modelling, founded the ACM/IEEE MODELS/UML series of conferences (with J. Bezivin) in 1998, and recently the IDM series of conferences (with J.-M Favre, S. Gérard and X. Blanc)./td>
	Mike Rennie Deimos Space, Madrid, Spain Mike Rennie obtained his B.Sc. (Hons) in Electrical Engineering & Electronics from U.M.I.S.T. (Manchester) in 1983 and has since spent his entire career as an embedded real-time software specialist in the aerospace and defence industry (e.g. Marconi Space & Defence Systems, SD-SCICON, EDS, GMV). Mike moved to Spain in 1992, and in 2001 co-founded DEIMOS Space (now a subsidiary of the Elecnor group). He is currently the Technical Director of the Aerospace & Defence department of DEIMOS as well as acting head of the Real-Time Systems Division. His particular areas of interest are spacecraft on-board software, safety-critical systems, independent software verification and validation, and model-driven design.
	Dr. Alistair Ruddle MIRA, UK Alastair Ruddle studied physics and mathematics at the University of Bristol and received a PhD in electronic and electrical engineering from Loughborough University. He has more than 20 years’ experience in a wide range of technologies and applications in the automotive, defence and power industries, predominantly in the areas of electromagnetics and mathematical modelling. Since 1996 he has been with MIRA Limited, an automotive research and technology organisation based in the UK. He has participated in many collaborative research projects, including acting as coordinator, in both EU and national programmes. In recent EU projects he contributed to the EVITA work on security risk analysis and legal aspects, and to the EASIS work on formal methods for the specification and modelling of dependable computational systems. Activities in earlier projects included development of conformity assessment procedures for safety related systems and evaluation of formal methods techniques for real-time, safety-critical systems.
	Dr. Didier Van den Abeele Alstom Transport Information Solutions, France Didier Van den Abeele has been at Alstom since 2001. His responsibilities include being the project manager for EU and government projects for Alstom Transport Information Solutions. These projects correspond to the full scope of Intelligent Transportation Systems and are related to all aspects of ICT. He is also in charge of the relations between competitivity clusters, universities, and research centres. Previous to these activities, Dr. Van den Abeele was the leader of an Information System Architecture Core Competency Network inside Alstom Transport Information Solutions. He spent the first part of his career at Thales.
	Dr.Ing. Oliver Weissmann TÜV Rheinland, Germany Dr. Oliver Weissmann, Vice President Information Security for the TÜV Rheinland AG, is a full time Information Security professional with a wide range of experience in the field of Information Security Management as well as in Security Architectures and Cryptography. He has been the head of a professional consulting team, successfully supporting all types of customers with services on Compliance, Privacy and Information Security for many years. As an active editor within the International Standards Organisation, he is currently responsible for the revision of ISO 27002 – ISMS Code of practice and actively participates in the development of other standards. Dr. Weissmann has a long history and experience in the field of international standardisation and its real world application. From time to time he also acts as an assistant professor in lecturing applied cryptography at universities.
	Dr. Norbert Zisky Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt, Berlin, Germany Dr. Zisky studied information techniques and electronics was awarded a doctorats promotion (Dr.-Ing.) at TU Braunschweig. His career starts as scientist with specializing in the design, construction and scientific research of computer-controlled instruments for optical measurement systems. Later on, he has been a scientist at Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt in Berlin, and since 1994 he is head of the working group "Data Communication and Security", the research field of which includes testing of interfacing, buses and networks. Chief topics are field and system buses, development of automated interface test instruments, development of communication interfaces and the security of legal data and communication systems. He is integrated in different standardisation bodies with the main focus of communication and security.
